This week, one of our French partners, The I.U.T. Montluçon, France, celebrated its 40th anniversary in style. Combining festivities with its very first student Graduation Ceremony, the French University was keen to break with tradition and turn their eyes westward for inspiration. Academic gowns were apparent for the first time which caused no little stir with the local press.
The junket which followed however was well and truly French - food of the finest quality, wine which flowed in abundance, music which proved irresistible to all (except those die hard visitors from overseas).
As part of an Erasmus Staff Training Programme, Sheila Biggs spent a few days working with French Colleagues in the planning and execution of this most memorable event. Doubtless she gleaned many good ideas for our own 40th anniversary which will take place next year.
