Aims of the Course
• To provide students with an introduction to a range of textiles techniques. The latest textiles techniques are covered, enabling students to gain a practical insight into the wide variety of creative possibilities of textiles.

This course is suitable for those with an interest in textiles and who have previous experience of basic art techniques such as drawing and painting.

Course Contents
• City & Guilds units at Level 3

Part 1
This part of the course is studied during the first year and it introduces the student to the basic elements of art technique and design. This enables students to begin to work through ideas to a resolved outcome.

Part 2
Four original and substantial handworked artifacts will be developed during this year of study, utilising knowledge of techniques and design acquired from
Part 1.

Duration of the Course
Part time - 2 years.
